Mary White
At the ALP Conference in Albuquerque in late February 2020, I was very excited and honored to announce along with Lisa Kolb and Janice Hurley, the formation of The Mary White Educational Scholarship Fund to honor my good friend and industry champion, Mary White. We never expected for Mary to lose her battle with glioblastoma brain cancer in early March. This fund is part of the new ALP Fund, a 501c(3) non-profit.
Working together with Mary, it was her behest that it be used to fund one-year memberships in ALP. As the author of Running a Bed & Breakfast for Dummies, founder of bnbfinder.com, and frequent presenter at Innkeeping Conferences, Mary was a committed educator and industry champion. The fund in her name will continue her legacy by granting one-year Future Lodging Professional memberships in the Association of Lodging Professionals. Applicants are vetted by the selection committee. This next generation of hospitality providers will be helped to acquire the education needed to fulfill their goals.
